I really enjoyed your video, gorgeous pens and inks as always. If your vintage pen indeed has a crack I’d highly recommend Joel of ink-pen. He was just working on 11 of my pens (9 of them vintage) and I was delighted he was even able to fix the crack in the grip section of a Monterosa (Montblanc). I also just sent him off with a Visconti Van Gogh with crack! He is incredibly experienced and his sister is also repairing fountain pens, her specialty being Sheaffer pens. Good luck, I’m a big sucker for vintage pens, they truly have my heart, but I don’t know if I’d buy that many (mainly when in Germany) if I didn’t know Joel through my local pen club! 🌸

I was told that the cap posts you just need to push until it snaps on. I tried with the one I owned and it worked. If you’re planning on passing this on I wouldn’t try but if it’s one to keep, test it out! It was a very duh-moment.

So many great pens and inks. I love your choices. Alt-bordeaux has been on my wish list for a very long time. What a beautiful purple. Of course all the other colors are my vibe 😊

The good thing is, I forget during the months what pens you inked up and so I enjoy always the currently inked videos from last month (your recap) and then the current month what will be in use. There are a few lighter shades and I’m glad you show them and they look very readable in your pens

I had a similar experience with a Lamy notebook. Also tried a Faber-Castell notebook that was even less well-suited for fountain pens. I enjoy my all black matte Lamy studio. Thanks for the video! 😊

I can also attest to Bart at Zodiac Pens being wonderful to work with. I have two Zodiac pens. One I bought as a currently available pen as is, and one I commissioned. They are both stunners. I prefer his Capricorn model, but he is one of the nicest and easiest people to work with. I had never commissioned a pen before, and he made the experience so easy and delightful. I highly recommend him as well. The is the first time I've seen his Cancer model, so thank you for sharing your new pen, Karyna!

first of all, I LOVE THE STUDIO. Secondly, the studio does post - you just have to make it *click* into place. the end finial has a little lip. Also if you dont like the metal grip, I think you can buy a rubberized one separately - I think Vanness has them for ~$20 USD.

Generally speaking, I love my Lamy pens. I am kind of wanting to try a 2000 and see if I like it. Great informative video. Thanks. Oh, and I agree-whomever wrapped those packages…I want her for my Christmas. They were beautiful

Beautiful all-black setup, perfectly safe for the office 👏🏻👏🏻. I keep my colours subdued for meetings, but when I’m at home it’s a rainbow fest!

I purchased a Lamy Studio near the beginning of my fp journey (thought it would be the most expensive fp I would ever buy - lol). I have the steel one with a black rubberized grip section and have no issues with it. It is one of my work fp's. Looks like you can purchase it separately. I love the colour of the one you won. Congrats!

Hey Karyna! Excellent pen and ink combinations. I like how some came together by name and others by color. The M1000 writes very nice. That nib was a gusher for sure when you first got it. So much so I thought the size had to have been stamped wrong. I have had some EF and F nibs write rather broadly but the M1000 takes the prize. I am excited to see what your thoughts are on the M1000 after this month. Very smart on looking out for the Sheaffer . That should be a fun pen to use. I don’t have a lever filler but I have some I may pursue from Anderson Pens. Have a wonderful evening!

I'm a huge lamy studio fan. I have 2 of them and I put gold nibs on them. I ordered the rubberized section from vanness for one of them. It's a good investment for $20. It's not rubberized in the way you might think. It doesn't feel sticky. I even gave my husband a lamy studio and he loves it. Congrats!

I always say that if you had an electron microscope, you still couldn't see how little I care about sports. EXCEPT for the Olympics. I get all teary, too!

I have the Palladium model Studio and its grip section is brushed rather than shiny metal, and I feel like that's enough to make all the difference; I've not had a problem with my grip slipping, thankfully! (It also comes with one of the Lamy gold nibs, which pushes the price up but it's so so worth it; I love that nib a lot.) Sad to see that the notebook paper is a letdown, which is disappointing from a fountain pen company -- especially since that ruling is pretty unusual and could be very useful!

Hi Karyna!! Congratulations on the new pen, ink, and notebook. Lamy Crystal inks are pretty nice. I have a couple. The Lamy Studio matte black was my first fountain pen. I still have it and still use it. The grip section is slick but otherwise I still very much enjoy it. I have another Studio with their gold nib which is a really good nib. I’m interested in what you think of the Lamy paper. The crystal inks are named after stones. No shimmer or anything like that. Some do sheen. Have a great afternoon!

I have a few Lamy Studios I got back in the early days of my FP journey that I've never used or have maybe used once that I really need to re-home for the same reasons you mentioned. I have small hands too but I prefer bigger pens so I'm not death gripping when I'm writing; I dunno, my hand feels a bit more relaxed when I'm holding a bigger pen if that makes any sense? I thought I could get past the metal sections which is probably why I ended up with more than one! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Still, as you said it's great to be able to build on your experience by trying different pens to see what works and what doesn't. That's part of the journey! 🙂 PS - Love the Pen Profile stamps! Are they from Everyday Explorers?

I’ve been wanting to get a Lamy notebook. I’m glad you showed it in action. I just started writing with my Al-star again. It has been a satisfying experience. I follow Kelly that used to work at Oblation papers. The shop looks so esthetically appealing. I am like you about metal grips. I have a heavy hand and grip my pens really hard, it is something that fountain pens help me but I need a faceted grip or a grip stop. I also like to post my pens. Congrats on your win!

If you dont like the metal grip section the matte black studio has a almost rubber grip like section I highly recommend it :)

I have the all black Lamy Studio and the grip is rubberized and very nice. A very solid well made pen with good flow. The clip is supposed to resemble an aircraft propeller. I think the Crystal inks are named after crystals/minerals but not necessarily crystalline/shimmering properties. I'd love to get a hold of an Azurite ink eventually. It looks beautiful in swatches I've seen. 😇🩷🙏🙌

I have the same studio and mine posts very well. Have you tried pushing the cap down a bit? You should feel it click into place and then the cap will sit tightly at the back.

Btw, you can swap the grip for a rubber one.

Ps have a look at the Bonecrusher 7 studios Velma in Waterlily Koi (Brooks blanks)… if you haven’t already…I just ordered it and it’s stunnnnning! Right up your alley with the colors I think. I saw it on Seemownay’s channel and had to get one. That and the Primary Manipulation 3.5 which James handturned in a pinch. He is so incredibly prompt and helpful! Much love from Australia 🇦🇺

I’m really loving weeping willow and alt-bordeaux… both of which are actually available in South Africa (well, we are still waiting for the Diamine but it’ll arrive soon!), so I think I’ll definitely be getting them both!
